Teen Jobfit
Is your teen ready to find their first job? Our JobFit program can help. In our 6-week program young people will learn various essential skills for the workplace.
With the right skills, they will be successful in landing that job, and experiencing success.
Skill Development and Practice Areas: finding your strengths, understanding your Learning Disability accommodations that help you be successful, resume writing, interview skills/mock interviews, how to look for a job that is right for you, habits that help you be successful in the job, workplace etiquette
Dates and Times: Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 (Starting February 11)
Location: 450-1547 Merivale Road (In the Emerald Plaza Tower)
Cost: $225.00 for 6 weeks
Grade 10 Literacy Test Prep
This four-week program is designed to help students in grade ten with learning disabilities prepare for the upcoming Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) to be written in their school between March 18 to April 15. The test measures whether students are meeting the minimum standard for literacy across all subjects up to the end of grade nine. Successful completion of the literacy test is a requirement to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Our qualified instructors will cover reading comprehension, and strategies for answering multiple choice, short answer, essay, and newspaper article long answer questions.
Dates and Times: Tuesdays from 6:30 – 8:00pm (Starting February 4)
Location: LDAO-C Learning Centre 450-1547 Merivale Road. (In the Emerald Plaza Tower)

WAVE Leadership Program
WAVE is our youth leadership class. It runs for 6 weeks from 6:30-7:30 and is geared for youth 13-15.
Students who complete this winter program will be given first consideration for a spot in our summer leadership camp, where they will further their learning and have a chance to put their skills to the test. Ten hours of the camp will also count towards volunteer hours for high school.
Skill Development and Practice Areas: understanding your leadership style, conflict resolution, listening skills, qualities of a strong leader, regulation and emotional support, celebrating your own unique qualities
Dates and Times: Fridays 6:30-7:30 (Starting January 27)
Location: LDAO-C Learning Center, 450-1547 Merivale Road (In Emerald Plaza Tower)
Cost: $225.00 (6 weeks)
