ADVOCACY AND  INFORMATION SUPPORT:

When you, your children or others you know have been diagnosed with or suspect they have a LD or ADHD, it’s often difficult to know where to start or where to go to get basic information and to begin understanding how best to move forward. At the LDAOttawa we are here to help you to be more informed of:

  • what resources and programs are available to you in the community.
  • ideas, online education links and issues you may need to know about.
  • connections to  lists of community service providers or practioners (including tutoring, schools and psychologists).
  • our resources and programs that can help you  become your own advocate to  be better equipped to support those in need.

Navigating your way through the system can be daunting, exhausting and expensive. Our knowledgeable staff can help you identify the sources and approaches that will help you get the services and support you need.

“I am and adult diagnosed with severe ADHD/ADD who has encountered employment difficulties due to my disability. I received valuable advice, support and assistance from the LDAO-C. I have also attended some of the LDAO-C information evenings which were informative, professional, and extremely helpful in my parent and advocacy roles with regards to my disability as well as my children’s.” – LDAO-C client
